We dated the Zeros… so you don’t have to.

The Book

Every woman can tell you about her heartbreak over an embarrassing or unhealthy ex-boyfriend, but can she tell you why she dated him? Does she know how to avoid dating a guy like him again? Probably not. Bad boyfriends are like mom jeans: As much as everyone admits they are awful, we see them everywhere. The purpose of this book is to equip women with the tools to recognize various types of toxic men, or Zeros, through their behavoir. Once readers are able to recognize these Zeros early on, they will stop falling for them. While we work on the finishing touches, please check out the sample chapter.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Each chapter illustrates a different type of Zero. The authors take turns sharing their experiences, and give pointers on how to recognize and avoid ....

THE MANSLUT

The Manslut is a particularly toxic male archetype. All women will encounter him at some point in their dating career, and many women will be tempted to try and change him. With disastrous results.

THE AMBIGUOUSLY GAY GUY

In a world of metrosexuals and men on the downlow, how is a girl to know exactly where she stands?

THE CLOSETED DRUG ADDICT

We all know that love can be intoxicating, and a girl can easily become addicted to the high. But when you fall in love with this archetype, a broken heart may be the least of your worries.

THE CHEAPSKATE

Enough said.

THE VIRTUAL MAN

Your mother's advice on men is all well and good, but it's not going to help you navigate dating's brave new world. This chapter illuminates the murky waters of dating in a technologically advanced landscape. CLICK TO READ THIS CHAPTER.

THE DEAD ELECTRICIAN

This odd name described the awful, inexplicable, yet disturbingly common phenomenon of the guy who, after acting like the man of your dreams, falls off the face of the earth.

THE LITTLE FRIEND

Penis size. A look at a certain shortcoming with humor, honesty and compassion. Does size matter? Absolutely. But the quality of the guy matters much more.

THE BIG TALKER

When promises, promises, promises turns into blah, blah blah.

THE JOCKSTRAP

A man’s man is desirable, but when his sports obsession turns foul, you’ll find yourself on the losing team.

THE VERBAL MASTURBATOR

Women love a man who talks, but not one that only talks about himself. Initially, this charismatic guy will seem like a catch, but when a guy is so in love with himself, there’s no room for a relationship with you.

THE SECRET LOVER

Clandestine affairs can be fun and sexy, but these fictional relationships are better kept within the pages of novels.

THE NICE GUY

We’ve all heard men complain that nice guys finish last, and most women have been guilty of falling for the bad boy at least once. But we don’t reject guys because they are nice. Often ‘nice’ is our code for needy, boring, insecure, socially awkward or bad in bed. We’re just too nice to say it.

THE MIRAGE

One word. Willoughby. This archetype existed long before Jane Austen perfected him in Sense and Sensibility. He seems ideal. You’ve sure found The One. But The Mirage is never the vision of perfection that he projects.
